Custom Body Kits

If you want to change the look of your vehicle to a unique, customized appearance - installing a body kit is the answer. Exterior kits are accessories that significantly modifies the original design of the vehicle. Car enthusiasts know the importance of having a unique looking vehicle. Exterior kits allow will allow you to customize your vehicles to suit your needs and personalities. There are many different ways to alter the look of your vehicle to give it a unique look and enhance its functions.

Body kits come in parts. These parts include: front bumper, side skirts, and rear bumpers. Sometimes body kits may include other pieces such as hoods, fenders and trunk lids.

Wings and spoilers are also popular parts of body kits. They can either be placed in front or in the back of the vehicle to reduce aerodynamic drag and increase traction during acceleration. Still, the body kits with 4 piece are the most popular.

Most body kits are made from either fiberglass or polyurethane. Fiberglass is more brittle and can crack on high impact. Plastic or polyurethane is much more flexible and is similar to the material used on OEM bumpers. However, polyurethane is more expensive and for that reason fiberglass is preferred.

Installation of body kits is fairly straight forward. The hardest job is getting your parts painted correctly and removing your original parts. Once your vehicle is stripped from its original bumpers (if you purchased a complete bumper and not a lip), the new bumpers and side skirts of body kits can be mounted using original fastening methods or revised depending on the vehicle and body kits your installing.

When searching for body kits, make sure the body kits matches the specifications of the frame of your vehicle. Often, the body kits will be made specifically for one make and model. You can do your research online and read reviews of many types of body kits available, or you can talk to the car experts in your area for advice about which kinds of body kits are available for your vehicle. A good auto body person will know which body kits fits your vehicle.

Remember...

  • all the body kits that your looking to buy have to fit correctly in order to get that sick racing car appearance, otherwise it just won't matter.
