Dodge answer to the Mustang and Camaro was the Challenger. Its exterior design had muscle written all over it and body kits amazingly takes that look to the next level. It first came out in 1970 and was one of the best muscle cars to ever be produced. Dodge put almost every engine they had into it, from the in-line six to the 426 Hemi. It was a very fast and popular car back in the day. With six different engines to choose from, the buyer only had the choice of a four speed manual transmission or a three speed automatic. The performance of this vehicle was awesome. If you had one of these vehicles and were lucky enough to have a Hemi, you were looking at 425 horsepower and a quarter mile performance of 13 seconds flat.
But, because of the bad reviews by the press, sales went down and they ceased production in 1974. In the years of 1978 to 1983, the name was brought to live again but this time overseas in Japan by Mitsubishi. The vehicle was a two door coupe with a very small in-line four cylinder engine. In 2008, Dodge brought back the name and its legacy. Looking like a modern version of the original, Dodge also brought back the Hemi engine to this once great muscle car. This modern muscle car can only be top by installing any one of the great looking body kits that are on the market. Giving this vehicle an aggressive look is ideal for the type of power this beast puts out. There are many different types of body kits to choose from on the Internet, so choose carefully because you only want the best for your muscle car.
